Tom and his wife Connie, previously on staff here, bring a long history and wealth of experience in camp ministry. Tom and Connie have two sons, a daughter, three children-in-law, and seven grandkids.

Derek Laffoon

Derek has previously been on camp staff in various roles and is excited to be here as the year-round store manager and housekeeper. Camp has made Derek a happier person since his first time on staff in summer of 2013 and since that summer he has been chasing experiences which have developed his love for young people (and the young at heart). He is passionate about helping other staff and guests pursue God-given dreams iencouraging them to pursue discipleship relationships in their lives. With his extensive experience cleaning his room and scrubbing toilets, and the example set by the movie Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, he is excited to be fulfilling his current roles at camp.

Tom & Amanda Hoskins

Director of Facilities & Executive Assistant

The Hoskins Horde hail from Arvada, CO. Tom and Amanda are excited to have returned to The Heights with their family. They have four children: Alex, Callum, Sarah, and Isaiah. Tom comes with lots of experience from the oil industry, carpentry, construction, and working on machines at Coors Brewing. When asked how he fixes things, his favorite response is “I use my Jedi mind powers”. Amanda has been a stay-at-home mom for the last 10+ years and is now excited to be helping Covenant Heights make a difference in the lives of the thousands of people that come every year.

Dan Broadfield

Assistant Director of Facilities

Dan and his wife Dawne are career missionaries along with their three children. Dawne has many years experience as a performing and visual artist and Dan can build just about anything. Together they form a very artistic, practical union of loving God and then loving others through their endeavors.

Greg Jones

Director of Food Services

Greg heads up all aspects of providing the food we get to enjoy here at camp. The Jones family moved to the Heights from Atwood, Kansas in April 2012. For years they have been deeply invested in camp as a family, taking nearly all their vacation time to come up and volunteer. All of their children have come to camp as campers and many have worked on seasonal staff. It has been a dream of theirs to work in full-time ministry, so Greg and his wife, Gwen, along with their two youngest, Aliah and Obadiah, are excited to be a part of The Heights community.

Jess Ohman

Shift Cook

Jess works in the camp's kitchen and dining hall, providing delicious meals & excellent service alongside our other kitchen staff. She hails from Trinidad, CO but readily calls camp home. Jess has worked in a variety of camp kitchens & has gained a lot of culinary experience during her time at Horn Creek Conference Center & Bear Trap Ranch (both located in Southern Colorado). Jess is passionate about serving the camp guests with great quality food and blessing the staff with home-cooked meals. When not creating delectable dishes for us all to enjoy, Jess can be found exploring the mountains on the horizon or meeting with the Savior of the world.
